Pemmican Lodge is located across the water (or a 25 minute drive along Highway 155) from the historic Metis community of Ile-a-la Crosse in the northwest region of Saskatchewan. As the second oldest community in the province, you will find a culture rich in history. Stories of the past live on the islands, flow with the rapids, and are told by the trees.
The mix of Metis, Cree and Denesuline culture have embedded a legacy of rich connection to the land, water, & language that is the foundation of the NORTH.
Make the trek.
Just a short 5 hour drive from Saskatoon, (depending how heavy your foot is - Jokes!) bathroom breaks and scenic selfies included!
There are two routes, both are great. Here’s the downlow:
Option #1, travel through North Battleford - Better cell reception on the highway.
Option #2, travel through Big River - Save 30 minutes.
*Saskatoon John G. Diefenbaker International Airport is the nearest international terminal in Saskatchewan. Car rental, cab/Uber service, food and amenities are accessible at airport.
Roads are in decent condition (paved, some pot holes) however, depending on weather conditions(potential for rain, snow, or mud), an SUV or Truck is recommended.
